Player-manager, Kevin Nicholson is thankful for the role Robins’ manager, Lee Johnson played in his appointment as TUFC player manager.
“I rang Lee [Johnson] about three hours before I interviewed to get the manager’s job at TUFC. I picked his brains on how a young untried manager gets things right in the interview process, and he was very accommodating.
“I look forward to seeing him again and the challenge that his Bristol City team will pose.”
The Gaffer is looking forward to getting back into the match day routine and is looking for his team to tackle the challenge head on.
“It will be great to get back to Plainmoor for another match day and I want my lads to take every pre-season game as seriously as they would if three points were at stake.
“They need to show the right habits, characteristics, and attention to detail that I expect of them. It’s now their chance to show me in match situations that they are up to the task, and of course, stake their claims for individual starting positions.
“I hope our fans enjoy the night, and we will be looking to improve every day in preparation for August 5th when we start for real.”
Wednesday sees the launch of our new 2017-18 Nike home and away kits in partnership with Pro:Direct. The club shop will be open from 1pm for sales.
