Torquay United manager Gary Johnson has been awarded the Vanarama National League Manager of the Month Award for October.
United have enjoyed a marvellous opening month of the campaign, with six wins out of seven earning The Gulls top spot, with a five-point margin to boot following their superb 5-0 win at Hartlepool.
“It’s an extra special month to be receiving this award, for the simple reason that we’ve had quite a few games in this month,” said Johnson, upon being presented with the award.
“It’s always nice to receive this accolade early in the season, because it means you’ve had a good start. I’m delighted, however the Manager of the Month award will always be shared by a manager with his coaching staff and players.
“I’d like to thank Assistant Manager, Aaron Downes, and the rest of my staff for all the work they’ve put in, and I accept this award on behalf of everybody at the club that have worked so hard since the beginning of the season.”
