Three of the Club’s JPL side’s were back in action on Saturday both home and away.

There were celebrations the previous weekend as it was confirmed that the TUAFC U12s and U16s age groups were champions of their respective leagues. The U12s had previously won all five of their fixtures, with an astonishing +30 goal difference, and the U12 Development Group One Winners will now progress onto the national stages.

Meanwhile the U16s remained unbeaten to top the Cup Group Two table, with the side now progressing into the knockout stages due to take place later this year.

On Saturday, the season continued for the club’s U13, U14 and U15 age groups in their final Cup Group fixtures. The U13s put up a valiant effort against second in the table Saints Southwest Somerset but eventually succumbed to a 9-3 defeat.

The U14s narrowly missed out on a top of the table finish on goal difference after racking up five wins and only one loss, but finished the season on a high with a 5-0 victory on the road against Saints Southwest Somerset.

Jayden Redwood-Hughes opened up the scoring in the 11th minute before Lucas Robinson doubled the travelling Young Gull’s advantage in the 28th minute. Robinson struck again on the verge of half time to ensure the U14 side entered the interval with a 3-0 lead. United were quick to continue the second half as they finished the first, with Freddie Swannell adding his name to the scoresheet five minutes inside the second half, before Redwood Hughes bagged his second of the match in the 60th minute to secure the Young Gulls 5-0 victory on the road.

Meanwhile it was a battling performance for the U15 side who challenged group leaders Mid Somerset RTC on Saturday. Despite two first half goals from Adam Reda Khalaf and Jacob Wellington within six minutes of each other, and Reda Khalaf doubling his tally in the 55th minute, it was the away side who ran out 6-3 winners.
