Defender Jean-Yves Koué Niate enjoyed the best season of his career in 2018/19 as United romped towards the National League South title.

Niate joined the club in the summer of 2018, after spells in France and Belgium before arriving in England in 2016. He joined Solihull Moors and then moved to Oxford City, Ebbsfleet United, and Guiseley AFC.

Muscular and athletic, his 6ft 4in frame ensured he was often the focal point of United’s defence throughout last season, and the Frenchman responded with a number of impressive performances.

Jean also notched some vital strikes during the campaign, including the vital winner in the 3-2 home win over Wealdstone in March 2019.
