Following their 3-2 win over Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, United follow that up in their second pre-season friendly tomorrow, with AFC Bournemouth U23s the latest visitors to Plainmoor.

Although there will be no spectators present for the encounter, the Yellow Army will once again be able to watch the game live via the official club website here, with the action kicking off at 1pm.

For manager Gary Johnson, this latest behind-closed-doors fixture provides another opportunity to assess the progress of his players, with the National League start date of October 3rd getting ever closer.

The visit of Bournemouth’s young stars further strengthens the positive link between the two clubs, following successful loan spells at Plainmoor for Cherries midfielder Frank Vincent over the past two seasons.

“We have a good relationship with Bournemouth,” said Johnson.

“Obviously Frank did well for us, and we did well for Frank, on loan last season. It would be good to have a link with them, as they are fairly local. It will be their Under-23s, so it’s well worth bringing them here to Plainmoor, so that we can have a look, just in case any of them become available for loan.

“I was pleased with the Hemel result, it would be nice to keep that going. We’re coming up against an Under-23 ex-Premier League – now Championship – side, so I’m sure they will be schooled in very good football, and it will be nice to see how close we are to playing that type of football, and to compete against it.”

With live coverage of the match available for just £4, it presents another chance for Gulls fans all over the world to witness the action from a safe environment, with United’s boss hoping for another entertaining match following last weekend’s five-goal showing.

“I think it will be a game where both teams will be trying to pay their football, but also trying to win. We have to step it up each game if we can, sort out the walking wounded, and put out the best side we have available at this moment in time.

“I’m hoping it will be £4 well spent, to see a good football game. From what I hear, the actual quality of the streaming was top class, and pretty much the same as you would get for a Sky game!

“Enjoy the game, and enjoy your football fix – albeit from your armchair!”
