United head into Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at Plainmoor aiming to pull themselves off the bottom of the National League table.

Despite dominating large parts of our match against Guiseley, United failed to make the most of their chances and lost 3-2.

Robbie Herrera has acted swiftly in bringing back goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe to the Club, after Ryan Clarke was unable to train late this week because of injury. Lavercombe joins on a one-month loan deal from Wigan Athletic.

“Training has been good, we have had a good tempo to things,” said Robbie.

“We have a lot of positives to take away from the Guiseley match, especially attacking-wise. There were good things for us to work on.

“There is no panic button being pressed. I think we have a good group of players, and they’ll achieve. There is a long way to go and we just need to get that first win and I’m sure the team will take off.

Solihull Moors have had a similar start to the season as United, only picking up a single point. They started this season’s campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Leyton Orient, were then beaten 4-1 by Boreham Wood, picked up a point in a 3-3 draw against Barrow, and were then beaten 1-0 by Halifax Town.

Herrera is concentrating more on how United are going to claim three points

“They are a quite a good counter-attacking side. That is something we have to beware of. Apart from that I’ll be concentrating on what we have got to do and how we are going to win the game.

United have been nursing the squad through the week, with a variety of minor injuries. It will remain to be seen which players are fully-fit for Saturday’s game. Long-term injury doubts Josh Gowling and Liam Davis are still not yet ready to return to action. Jordan Lee is still back with his parent club Bournemouth for assessment after suffering chest pains earlier this month.

“We were down on numbers this week. Gareth Law [Torquay United Physio] has had a big job to do,” added Herrera.
