United aim to bounce back from Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at the first time of asking when they face Boreham Wood at Plainmoor on Tuesday night (7:45pm kick-off).
The longest trip of the season ended in disappointment for United and the Yellow Army.
New non-contract signing Andy Haworth will feel the benefit of an hour on the pitch, and a training session in the build-up to Tuesday night’s match.
Player-manager Kevin Nicholson is eager to get his team back onto the pitch.
“I am very much looking forward to tomorrow’s game and I know the players are,” said Nicholson.
“After a result like Saturday. I think all players just want the next game to come around and show that it was a one off and show what they are really capable of.”
“Boreham are a good side who are building on a good season and coming off a good result on Saturday. It’s going to be tough and I hope we can get as many fans in as possible, to help the team get that first win on the board. I’m sure when they do that many more will follow.
“I’m very excited to see this group kick on and when the chemistry grows and the points start coming so will the confidence and I think we will be tough to play against.
“Can’t wait to be back at Plainmoor and hope to give our fans something to shout about now.”
Boreham Wood has a win, a draw, and a loss on the board so far this season. They start the season with a 2-2 draw against new boys AFC Fylde, a 2-1 defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge, and a 4-1 win over Solihull Moors.
Goals haven’t been difficult to come by for the Wood and they have been largely shared between a few players. Club favourite Bruno Andrade top scores with two goals to him name so far this season.
Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard has brought in nine players over the summer including Dagenham & Redbridge forward Paul Benson, Dean Wells from Stevenage, and Shaun Jeffers who top goal scorer for Chelmsford City as they reached the National League South play-off final.
