United take on the Dragons at the Racecourse ground on Saturday in a bid to get back to winning ways.

TUFC head coach Gary Owers has bolstered  United’s squad with the signings of Plymouth Argyle striker, Alex Fletcher, and Colchester United midfielder, Tommy O’Sullivan.

Wrexham have the 2nd best defensive record in the National League having only conceded 22 goals so far this season. They come into Saturday’s match on the back of three draws in a row. In their last match Barrow pulled off a shock 3-3 draw against the Dragons. Former Macclesfield Town forward Chris Holroyd is Wrexham’s top scorer with 8 National League goals to his name so far.

“Wrexham have been sort of almost water-tight defensively, and then all of a sudden you see in their last game they concede three,” said Owers.

“There will be a big crowd, they will have high expectations. Everybody thinks they can beat us because of our position in the league. We have to go and deal with all of that and find a bit of spirit which I am sure is still in there, and try and come back with something for our efforts.

Josh Gowling is still unavailable for selection as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. Yan Klukowski is some time away from being in contention as he recovers from a groin injury. Ryan Higgins is away from the Club on compassionate grounds.
