Robbie Herrera was counting the cost of his side not being clinical enough in the final third as United were defeated 2-1 by Solihull Moors at Plainmoor. United did create the best chances of the game, but failed to convert when they came along.

“We’re disappointed with the result. In the 90 minutes, maybe we didn’t do quite enough to win it anyway,” said Robbie.

“The goals that we conceded are poor again. I seem to be saying it week-in week-out. That’s the fact.

“We’ll look through them again [the goals conceded]. The first, there has been a flick-on at the near post from a set-play. Couldn’t see at the angle whether he scuffed it in. The second, the ‘keeper has long-kicked and ours has misjudged it and it’s bounced into the net. I just think it is a misjudgment on his part. Maybe he was looking at the man running towards him instead of keeping his eye on the ball. Who knows, I’ll ask him that question and try and pick him up ready for Monday.

United face a stiff task to put together a squad for Monday because of fresh injuries to Sam Chaney and Damon Lathrope.

“We’re already low on numbers – it’s even worse now, but we have a big game Monday and see how we go.

“Next week is going to be a week of phone calls and trying to get a few bodies in.

“It is early days and we have bodies to come back in and the ones we’re missing at the moment will enhance the team. I’m still confident that these boys can do something, and achieve something. Once we get back everyone fit and healthy, I’m sure we’ll start getting wins and we’ll climb ourselves up.”

Herrera was asked about his future, and the prospect of a new manager at the Club soon.

“I’ll try and do my part and my job until I know anything different.

“We don’t know who is going to come in, who is going to be involved. It is a bit uncertain for the players but they have a job to do, and all they’ve got to do is concentrate on the football.”
