Ahead of the Club’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, Torquay United AFC is pleased to unveil the make-up of the new Media & Communications team at Plainmoor.

With professional football now a 24/7 operation, United’s new Media team will see the club offer its supporters more – and better quality – content than ever before, whilst continuing to enhance its presence at the very heart of the local community.

Media Officer / Supporters Liaison Officer – Dominic Mee

Having been the Club’s PA Announcer for over a decade, Dominic fulfilled a lifelong ambition by stepping up to join the full-time staff at Plainmoor in January 2019. Having initially joined United as an Administrator, he became the Club’s SLO seven months later, whilst combining this role with additional media duties.

Dominic’s new role will see him focus on bringing the Yellow Army closer to the Club than ever before, by providing website content such as press releases, match reports, interviews and TUFC Radio commentaries, whilst continuing to act as a conduit and channel of dialogue between the Club and its supporters.

Media Coordinator – Jess Francis

Jess’ passion for Torquay United began at an early age, attending the Club’s ‘Kids In The Community’ scheme. Having attended her first match with her dad back in 2008, she soon became a Season Ticket holder at Plainmoor, and after gaining a two-week work placement position at United whilst studying Journalism at university, Jess continued to work as a volunteer in the Media department, providing invaluable support in keeping supporters updated via social media whilst the Club’s matches took place behind closed doors in 2020/21.

Now an established member of the team at TUAFC, Jess will continue to be a key figure both behind and in front of the camera, whilst enhancing the club’s physical media and social presence.

Matt Rogan – Community Media Officer

A well-known and popular face throughout Torbay through his extensive media work, Matt had already established himself on radio in the midlands prior to moving to South Devon in 2007. Having presented Gemini’s hugely successful Breakfast Show, further spells with Heart, Palm and Breeze further enhanced his place in the local community’s affections.

Supporters who attended United’s memorable Presentation Evening at the Riviera International Centre back in May 2019 were left in no doubt of his passion to the local cause, and having supported and promoted a number of worthy causes during the course of his media career in the South-West, Torquay United’s presence in the local community will only increase further following his arrival at Plainmoor.

Ian Brown – Media Assistant

In keeping with the Club’s other appointments, Ian is already a familiar face throughout Torbay, having combined his work as a DJ with his volunteering duties at Plainmoor. Having passionately watched United’s fortunes from the terraces, Ian went on to fulfil a number of matchday roles, including operating the Club’s big screen, serving as PA Announcer, before assisting with the streaming of United’s home matches last season.

This season has seen his involvement with the Club grow even further, including providing match commentary via TUFC Radio, as well as additional camera support at home & away games.
