Torquay United Ladies sealed another three points and a clean sheet as they beat Forest Green Rovers 2-0 at home.

It was not a pretty performance overall, but TULFC could  have easily been 3-0 up within the first half hour. Rhi Bailey smashed the cross bar with a penalty and Jana Richards missing two opportunities which just went narrowly wide. The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute when a well worked corner from Rhi Bailey was met by Daisy Self and then by the oncoming Stephanie Beck who scored. Half time 1-0.

In the second half the opponents started the brighter of the two teams, TULFC hadn’t woken up yet. Goalkeeper Beth Marshall was called into action with a couple of fine saves and Becca Wakely and Alex Sheppard were being tested at the back, but they were dealing with pressure well.

Hannah Eglon ,Georgia Mann and Jana Richards made way for Sian Chapman Danni Yyatt and Emma Mingo who all got involved straight away. The play from both teams was appearing sloppy at times; it was hard to show our usual dominant football and possession. Bailey received the ball on the half way line and played a through ball into the path of Wyatt, who selflessly played a clever ball through to Self who met the ball after a lung-bursting run. She buried the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Next Sunday we travel to Keynsham Development with a 2pm kick off.
