We caught up with Ben Wynter, Ruairi Keating, Ryan Dickson, and Liam Davis ahead of tonight’s National League South encounter against St Albans City at Plainmoor (7:45pm KO).

“It was disappointing to lose on Saturday and be knocked out of the FA Cup,” said defender, Ben Wynter. “I know I speak on behalf of the boys when I say that we’ve got to be better. The good thing about football is that there’s always another game to put things right and that’s what we have to do on Tuesday night.

“At the moment we’ve been playing fairly well but we need to be more consistent and ruthless. We know that as a team we can be much better.

“When we hear the fans supporting us it gives us a massive lift and an extra boost in confidence. The fans have been amazing and it is hugely appreciated by the team.”

“We’ve regrouped and gone through a few things that we need to be better at as a whole squad,” said Ruairi Keating. “We’ve been put through our paces and we’re going to just go straight back to the league and put it right.

“We want to do as well as we can and finish as high as possible so it’s full steam ahead now.”

“It’s another big game that we need to win to leapfrog a few other teams and keep ourselves in contention with the top of the league,” said Ryan Dickson. “I don’t think it is a game we need to fear but go out there and enjoy playing in front of our own fans.”

“We need to be a little more clinical and work on the fine detail. Scoring the first goal at home is huge and hopefully we can put on a show on.”

“We’ve got to go into it with a positive mindset,” said Liam Davis. “We’ve actually been playing well recently even though Saturday’s result didn’t go our well,”

“We’ve got strikers that are scoring goals and we’ve got wingers that can attack. We’re a lot more forward thinking as a team and we’ve just got to remember that.”

“I enjoy night games, personally. Sometimes I feel like I’ve got more energy in the evening. Hopefully lots of fans turn up.”
