Let’s take a look at last weekend’s fixture in the Junior Premier League. There were big wins for the U9s and progress into the next round of the JPL Shield for the U12s.

Each week we’ll include notes from some of the coaches in the fixtures that we’ve been involved in.

U8s Training Week

U9s Torquay United 12 – 1 Map Academy – (Oscar Mills x3, Thomas Ross x2, William Glanfield x2, Charlie Wise, Mason Bryant, Riley Calland, Ben Dyke) 
“What a game of football! There were fantastic performances from everyone today. The team kept the ball on the deck and moved it nicely.

“Will Glanfield on debut picked up the Man of the Match award.” – Paul Mills, U9s Coach

JPL Shield | U12s Torquay United 2 – 2 Weston-Super-Mare (TUFC win 5-4 on penalties)

“We took the lead through Toby Stewart in the 11th minute before WSM scored to make it level at half-time. WSM took the lead to make it 2-1 but Adam Reda Khalaf scored a free-kick from 20 yards out to make it 2-2 in the 57th minute of a 60 minute game. The match went straight to penalties with Dris Mellas, Robbie Wright, Hayden Wills, Ben Armstrong (debut), and Charlie Stevens scoring for United. TUFC ‘keeper Will Hemus saved WSM’s second penalty and got close to three others.

U15s Exeter Academy 4 – 0 Torquay United 

U16s Evo Soccer Bath 1 – 4 Torquay United (Harvey Hogan, Joe Aldous, Kyle Hazelwood, Own Goal)

U18s New College Swindon 1 – 6 Torquay United

Olaf Koszela continued his hot streak by scoring five of United’s six on the day. Harry Ford also got on the scoresheet.
