Torquay United Welcomes Sean Windeatt to the Bryn Consortium

Torquay United is delighted to welcome lifelong supporter Sean Windeatt as the seventh member of the Bryn Consortium, in another positive step as the club continues to build for the future.

Sean, 52, who was born in Brixham educated at Churston Grammar School and is now based in London, is a lifelong Gulls fan. His appointment further strengthens the Consortium’s local roots and supporter-minded outlook, while also adding considerable international business, financial and operational experience to the ownership group.

Sean has joined the Bryn Consortium as a shareholder in Scoring Goals Limited, the holding company of Big in Business Limited, which in turn holds a majority shareholding in Torquay United AFC.

In addition to his executive experience, Sean brings to the Board a significant global network of contacts within the investment community, further broadening the expertise and reach available to the Consortium as it continues its long-term work in support of the club.

The Bryn Consortium now comprises Tom Allen, Mark Bowes-Cavanagh, Matt Corby, Rob Hawes, Simon Robinson, Michael Westcott and Sean Windeatt.

Co-Chairman Michael Westcott said:
“Sean is an excellent addition to the Bryn Consortium and to Torquay United, and very much reflects the kind of people we want around the table as we build for the long term.

“We have been engaged with Sean over the past year and are delighted that he has now come on board. He brings additional skills, experience and judgement to the Boardroom, as well as a significant global network of contacts in the investment community. We believe he will be a valuable addition to the Consortium as we continue our work to build a successful and sustainable future for Torquay United.”

Sean Windeatt said:
“Torquay United has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, so to have the opportunity to join the Bryn Consortium is something I am incredibly proud of.

These days I probably get to more away games than home games, but my passion for the club has never changed. I’ve been really impressed by the stability the Bryn Consortium has brought to Torquay United, as well as the vision and development plans for the future. I’m delighted to come on board and play my part in supporting the club’s progress.”

Co-Chairman Mark Bowes-Cavanagh said:
“Sean is a terrific guy and, like the rest of the Consortium, a passionate Torquay United supporter who cares deeply about the future of this football club.

“His decision to join the Bryn Consortium is hugely positive. As we continue to invest in laying the foundations for the club’s long-term future, Sean’s arrival further strengthens the Consortium and underlines our shared commitment to backing the club’s progress.”

Sean’s appointment is subject to the completion of the FA Owners’ and Directors’ Test.

Everyone at Torquay United extends a warm welcome to Sean and looks forward to his contribution as the club continues its journey forward.
