Torquay United can confirm that Jordan Young has joined National League side Worthing for an undisclosed fee.
The agreement also ensures that United will retain a significant financial interest in any future transfer.
Jordan has been one of the Club’s standout performers over the past two seasons, scoring 35 goals in 88 appearances after arriving at Plainmoor in the autumn of 2024.
His performances and goals have made him a firm favourite with the Yellow Army, and the Club fully recognises that supporters will be sorry to see a player of his quality leave Plainmoor.
United manager Jimmy Ball said: “Jordan has been an outstanding player for Torquay United and his record over the past two seasons speaks for itself.
“He was entering the final year of his contract and made it clear that he wanted to pursue the opportunity to play at a higher level. At this stage of his career, and with his family commitments, he saw this as an important opportunity for him and his family, and so we have to respect that.
“When a player feels his ambitions lie elsewhere, it is right that we protect the interests of the Club and to ensure we receive full value, which we’ve done. It’s a great deal for all parties.
“It gives us the opportunity to bring in players and look to add further creativity and strength to the side and those who want to play for Torquay United and will be fully committed to what we are trying to achieve here,” Ball added.
