Club Statement

Torquay United AFC can today provide an update on recent changes to the club’s off-field operations.

The club is undergoing a proactive and positive transformation – the most significant revamp of our operations in at least 15 years – as we implement a long-term strategic plan to ensure Torquay United can thrive on and off the pitch.

At the heart of this plan is a dynamic, customer-centric and commercially led operation, designed to build strong, long-term partnerships and enhance the experience for supporters, sponsors and the wider community. We are reshaping roles and creating new positions focused on revenue growth, fan engagement and increased investment across all areas of the club, including youth development. This will give us a leaner, more agile organisation and position Torquay United to embrace the future with confidence.

As part of this work, we have undertaken a significant reset of our off-field structure in recent weeks. This has unfortunately included a small number of redundancies, and we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to those colleagues who are leaving us for their contribution to the football club over the years.

The colleagues who are leaving us have been outstanding servants of Torquay United – always professional and dedicated, including through the testing periods of Covid, administration and challenging times on the pitch.

It would be inappropriate to single out individuals, but to those departing we extend our heartfelt thanks for everything you have done for the club. They will always be part of the Torquay United family, and we wish them every success for the future
