Cooke Commits | Striker Signs New Contract

United’s plans for 2026/27 have received a further boost, with the news that Cody Cooke has agreed a new deal to remain at Plainmoor.

Having originally joined from Bath City in the summer of 2024, Cooke instantly gained the affections of the Yellow Army during a superb first campaign, with popular the striker finishing as United’s top scorer with 19 goals.

After following that up with 3 goals in the opening 8 games of 2025/26, Cooke looked set to lead the way once again, only for injury to intervene, and ultimately rob The Gulls of their prolific target man for the majority of the second half of the season.

Having now agreed to extend his stay on the English Riviera, Torquay’s No.9 will be looking forward to leading the line once again, this time under the guidance of Jimmy Ball.

“I think Cody has a huge part to play,” said Jimmy about the news. “He’s still got to get over that shoulder injury which we have been working hard on. He’s got the know-how and we need to get him back in the goals. “
