Co-Chairmen SHARE THEIR thoughts AHEAD OF TOday’s clash with Chesham…
Good afternoon and welcome back to Plainmoor for today’s National League South fixture against Chesham United. We extend a warm welcome to the players, staff, directors and supporters of Chesham, and we hope everyone enjoys their visit to Plainmoor.
After Tuesday night’s hard-fought and important win, there is no doubt the squad will take confidence into this afternoon’s game. Chesham will provide another stern test, particularly with the group still managing a number of absences, but the spirit in the camp is strong and we know the players will be ready to give everything once again.
On the managerial situation, we know supporters are keen for clarity, and so are we. The process to appoint our new manager is progressing at speed, but this is a hugely important decision for the medium-term future of Torquay United. It is one we simply have to get right. While we all want matters concluded as quickly as possible, it is more important that the Board completes a thorough process and secures the best possible candidate for our football club than rushes a decision we may later regret.
In the meantime, we are grateful to Neil Warnock and Ronnie Jepson, who will continue to oversee first-team matters until the new manager is in place.
Finally, today is Family Day and Her Game Too Day at Plainmoor, and we hope supporters of all ages enjoy everything on offer, with plenty of fun activities, extra food and beverage outlets, and live music adding to the occasion.
Let’s get behind the team from first whistle to last.
Come on You Yellows!
