Torquay United is delighted to announce that striker Deon Moore has signed a permanent two-year contract with the Club.

Moore, who became a firm favourite with the Yellow Army during the closing stages of last season, will rejoin the squad from Monday as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign.

Deon made a huge impact after arriving at Plainmoor last season, scoring eight goals in just ten appearances for The Gulls.

Prior to joining United, Moore had already established himself as one of the most effective forwards in National League South last season, scoring 12 goals for Maidstone United before leaving the Gallagher Stadium as the Stones’ top scorer.

That took his overall tally for the campaign to 20 goals in all competitions, underlining the calibre of goalscorer United have secured on a permanent basis.

His performances in yellow included a memorable brace in United’s play-off semi-final victory over Dorking Wanderers at Plainmoor, before he followed that up with another two-goal display in the play-off final against Hornchurch.

Powerful, direct and clinical in front of goal, Moore quickly showed exactly why Jimmy Ball was so keen to bring him to South Devon — and why securing his return on a permanent basis has been such an important piece of summer business for the Club.

The Guyana international brings strong experience and proven goalscoring pedigree to United’s forward line, having previously represented clubs including Peterborough United, Bristol Rovers, Sutton United, Woking, Welling United and Maidstone United.

Now, after making such a decisive impression in yellow last season, Moore is back — and this time, he’s here to stay.

Gulls boss Jimmy Ball is understandably delighted to finally get his man.

“Deon made a massive impact for us last season. He gave us power, presence, goals and big moments in big games. We wanted him back, the fans wanted him back, and I’m delighted we’ve got it done.

“He scored goals before he came to us, and then he came in here and delivered in the biggest moments at the end of the season. That tells you a lot about his character and his quality.

“He knows what this Club is about now, he knows what we’re building, and he’ll be an important part of the group.”

Welcome back, Deon.
