NEXT UP | Maidenhead (A) (08/11/25 3pm KO)

United travel to Berkshire for second away test of the week

With The Gulls coming off the back of a impressive midweek victory against Farnborough, Paul Wotton’s men will be hoping to make it two wins from two against Maidenhead this weekend.

Who’s The Boss?

Alan Devonshire, Maidenhead’s manager, joined The Magpies in 2015 for his second spell at the club and since that point has provided a steady ship for the Berkshire outfit.

Devonshire, recently was nominated for the National League South Manager of The Month award, and will be hoping his team can recapture some of that early season form.

How Are They Doing?

Six wins, three draws, and five defeats marks a mixed start to the season for Maidenhead who currently sit 11th in the table.

That said, it’s still early days, and after a poor run of form they will be hoping they can show some of the promise they displayed earlier in the campaign.

Player to Watch

Maidenhead United midfielder, Josh Popoola has netted 4 times  in the National League South this season, and United will have to keep an eye out for his goalscoring ability this weekend.

The versatile young prospect who can play multiple different positions and started his career in the Bournemouth youth system before finding his way to Maidenhead United this season.

Played for Both

The Yellow Army will remember Josh Umerah from his spell with The Gulls in the 2020/21 season in the National League.

Josh, who has played for several non-league clubs since departing Plainmoor, scored 5 goals in 32 appearances for The Gulls. United will be hoping they can keep the former yellow quiet come Saturday afternoon.
