United are back on travels again tomorrow, as they head to Berkshire to take on Slough Town.
Having picked up another useful point on their travels at St Albans at the weekend, Paul Wotton’s side will now be looking to back that up with another result at Arbour Park, and they look to strengthen their position at the top of National League South.
Who’s the boss?
Scott Davies took over the role of Player/Manager at Arbour Park in November 2022, with the role being his first managerial appointment, following a brief stint as Caretaker Manager, leading them to an 18th place finish.
Scott came through the youth ranks at Watford, Wycombe & Reading where he gained his first professional contract in 2006. While at the Royals in a five year spell, Davies also had loan spells at Yeading, Aldershot, Wycombe, Yeovil & Bristol Rovers.
Upon his release from the Berkshire club in 2011, the midfielder had spells at Crawley, Oxford United, Dunstable, Wealdstone, Oxford City & Chelmsford City before his first spell at Slough came in 2018, where he helped the club to promotion to the National League South via the Southern League Play-Offs. Kingstonian & Harlow came next, before Davies returned to Slough in July 2019, where he has overseen steady progress ever since.
How have they been doing?
The Rebels are currently occupying a mid-table position, having gained 35 points from their opening 26 outings.
Having made an excellent start to the 2024/25, five wins out of their opening six fixtures saw many predict a promotion push from Davies’ side. Unfortunately for Town fans, the team were unable to continue that form, and they head into tomorrow’s fixture on a run of seven games without victory.

Bulgarian striker Slavi Spasov is Slough’s primary goal threat, with the Frontman arriving from Hungerford Town in December 2023.
Having moved to England at the age of 12, Slavi was formerly with Oxford United’s academy, and made his senior debut in an EFL Trophy match against Fulham in September 2018. After coming on as a substitute to score a penalty, Spasov became the club’s youngest ever scorer at the age of 16 years and 226 days, and would go on to make his league debut three months later.
Prior to arriving at Town, Slavi experienced loan spells with Woking, North Leigh and Banbury United before joining Hungerford Town in July 2023.
Played for both
Elliot Benyon was a product of the Academy at Bristol City, and while at Ashton Gate had loan spells at St Albans City & Crawley Town. Upon his release from the Robins in 2007, Benyon had his first spell here at Plainmoor, playing 125 games and scoring 39 goals in the league, and helping the Club climb out of non-league and back into the Football League in 2009, before his release in 2011. A season at Swindon Town followed which also included a loan spell at Wycombe, before Southend United were next for the striker.
During his time at Roots Hall, Benyon made a return to the English Riviera on loan, a move which was made permanent in the summer of 2013, and in a two year stay at United he made another 43 appearances and scored three goals in the league, before a loan spell at Hayes & Yeading United led to a permanent transfer there upon the end of his contract at the Gulls in 2015.
Subsequent spells at Wealdstone, Enfield(loan), Whitehawk & Leatherhead came before in 2019, the striker embarked on a three year stay at Oxford City, and the spent the 2022/23 season at Slough Town, scoring three goals in 22 league appearances before moving on to Southern League Hanwell Town.

Two second half strikes from Brad Ash saw United come from behind to beat Slough Town on their last visit to Arbour Park.
With Town leading through Nathan Minhas’ early opener, a rejuvenated showing from The Gulls after the break saw them eventually turn the game in the favour, thanks to Ash’s brace in Berkshire.
