Plainmoor Pitch Work Begins

Maintenance work on the Plainmoor pitch got underway today as preparations began for the new season. The annual renovation programme has started with sandbanding, a key process that helps improve drainage and creates a healthier, more durable playing surface capable of withstanding the demands of a long campaign.

Following the sandbanding, the existing surface will be removed using a Koro fraize mower before top dressing is applied across the pitch. The surface will then be verti-drained to relieve compaction and encourage stronger root development, before being reseeded to establish fresh grass coverage.

We’ll be posting more content from the maintence work throughout the week on the club’s social media channels.
