On The Road With The Gulls In Pre-Season

All the ticketing & match details for our away friendlies in July

Jimmy Ball’s new-look Gulls side will begin their warm-up to the 2026/27 season with five successive away tests, before heading back home to finish their preparations with a Plainmoor triple-header.

With our opening pre-season encounter now just a little over a week away, here we take a quick look at our five hosts next month.

Buckland Athletic (A), Saturday, July 4th (2pm KO)

  • Homers Heath, Kingskerswell Rd, Newton Abbot TQ12 5JU

Our pre-season campaign begins at the VX3 Stadium – Homers Heath, as United make the short journey to Newton Abbot to take on Buckland Athletic on Saturday, July 4th (3pm KO).

With another sell-out expected in our annual clash against The Bucks, supporters are strongly encouraged to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Cullompton Rangers (A), Wednesday, July 8th (7pm KO)

  • Speeds Meadow, Cullompton EX15 1DW

Next up on the agenda is a trip to Speeds Meadow, as Torquay take on a Cully side managed by a former Gull in Richard Pears.

Pears led Rangers to 3rd place in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division (East) last term.

Brixham AFC (A), Saturday, July 11th (3pm KO)

United won’t have to travel far for their next pre-season test, as Western League side Brixham AFC welcome us back to Wall Park.

Torquay built up strong connections with their Torbay neighbours last season, with young striker Fin Herbert one of the players to benefit from regular game time out on loan.

Although this match will be a non-ticket event, supporters are being encouraged to arrive early to avoid queues at the ground.

Plymouth Parkway (A), Tuesday, July 14th (7.30pm KO)

  • Saint Peters Rd, Plymouth PL5 3JH

Our next test will be a pre-season trip to Bolitho Park to take on Plymouth Parkway.

Parkway consolidated their position in the Southern League Premier Division South – one division below The Gulls – with an 11th-placed finish, and having made a number of new additions to the squad in the close season, Karl Curtis’ side will provide United with another useful midweek workout.

Weston-super-Mare (A), Saturday, July 18th (3pm KO)

Our visit to Weston-super-Mare will round up The Gulls’ pre-season travels, prior to a triple-header of home games at Plainmoor.

Taking place at Weston’s Optima Stadium on Saturday, July 18th (3pm KO), segregation will be in place for this game.

Travelling Gulls fans are advised that tickets will be only available online for away supporters, and will be available for purchase until 1pm on the day before the game.

  • Concession (Senior 60+, Student ID, Armed Forces ID, NHS ID: £8.50 (includes booking fee)
  • 14-17 Year Old: £4.50 (includes booking fee)

  • Under 8s (Must be accompanied by an Adult): Free (includes booking fee)
  • Family (x2 Adults & x2 Under 13s): £25 (includes booking fee)
