REPORT: BATH 0 – 0 UNITED

United had to settle for a point on Tuesday evening, as they were held to a goalless draw at Twerton Park.

Unsurprisingly, manager Paul Wotton opted to name the same squad that dispensed with Weston-super-Mare so impressively on Boxing Day.

The first forty-five minutes may not have produced a goal, but United created plenty of opportunities, with Dan Hayfield and Jordan Young both forcing brave saves from Bath glovesman Harvey Wiles-Richards, whilst Matt Jay also fired wide from close range just before the change of ends.

The second period was a more even affair, although it was again the men in yellow that enjoyed the better of proceedings.

Unlike the first half, Wotton’s men were unable to seriously trouble the Bath City custodian, with former Roman Dan Hayfield coming closest with a 20-yard volley that was just too high in the 72nd minute.

A late strike over from Matt Bowman for the hosts was the only real opening City created, such was Torquay’s dominance.

Not the win United wanted, but point on the road is almost always a valuable one.
