REPORT | Tiverton 0 -7 United Women

County Cup success for United

Torquay United’s women have continued their superb start to the 2025/26 season, with a comprehensive 7-0 away win at Tiverton Town in the Red Rock Electrical Women’s Premier Cup.

Torquay were in charge from the off, although it wasn’t until the 20th minute that Ryan Perks’ side made the breakthrough, as Matilda Franchi broke the deadlock.

That lead was doubled just six minutes later as recent signing Evelyn Bray opened her scoring account for her new club, and when skipper Lucy Palmer made it 0-3 four minutes before the break, the match was effectively over as a contest.

Despite the hosts’ best efforts, United continued to find holes in the Town backline, and when Katelyn Bell added a fourth on 70 minutes, the floodgates well and truly opened.

Jasmine Barker (80) and Bex McMullin (86) added to an already handsome lead, before Bell grabbed her second of the game in the 88th minute to wrap up the scoring.

With six different players finding the net, United will head into their Quarter-Final tie with Plympton in confident mood.

For now though, all attention will switch to next Sunday at Plainmoor, as United host Exeter City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup First Round.
