Gulls triumph over Bluebirds under the lights at Plainmoor
Torquay United returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening, as they secured a 3-0 win over Chippenham Town at Plainmoor.
A strong first-half showing from United was rewarded by goals from Jordan Young and Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, before Louis Dennis added a third in the second half to seal a comfortable victory.
Manager Paul Wotton opted to make two changes after the single-goal defeat at Chesham, with Dennis and Matt Jay taking the places of Dylan Morgan and Cian Dillon.
The men in yellow were on top from almost the first whistle, and eventually took the lead in the 20th minute.

Having been born in Chippenham and enjoyed two spells at the Club, the Bluebirds are well aware of Young’s talents, but they were still powerless to prevent his left-footed curling free-kick soaring into the top corner of the net.
United certainly didn’t sit back on their lead, and just before the break, it was 2-0.
This time it was Lo-Everton who took the honours, as he delicately scooped the ball over Henry and into the net via the crossbar from 22 yards out.
It was a really classy finish, and gave Wotton’s side a two-goal lead at half-time.
Despite the scoreline, there was little change in the pattern of the game, with Torquay still in charge.
Three minutes short of the hour mark, the result was put beyond all reasonable doubt.

Callum Dolan, who had impressed all night on the left flank, danced his way into the penalty area before squaring the ball to Dennis, who slotted the ball home from close range to make it 3-0.
Chippenham did enjoy some decent spells of possession thereafter, but The Gulls did what they needed to do in and around the penalty area to clinch a very welcome, and well-deserved, three points.
