Torquay United Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Ryan Perks as their new manager.
Perks, who is currently in Switzerland as part of the Wales support staff for the Women’s Euro 2025 tournament, will arrive at Plainmoor after almost five years at the helm of Plymouth Argyle Women.
He is a UEFA A License qualified coach and began his Argyle journey in the Home Park Academy, helping to nurture the next generation of young talent, before moving into the role of women’s team manager in the summer of 2020.
Over the next five years, Perks performed some minor miracles in helping Argyle Women maintain their Tier 3 status, often competing against clubs with vastly superior resources and budgets.
He was an integral part of the project to provide sustainable growth for female football at Home Park, developing and promoting girls from the youth system into the senior environment, some of whom have gone on to play in the Women’s Super League and Championship.
It is a model that United would love to emulate, creating a realistic and effective pathway for talented young players to progress into first-team football, and blending them with experienced campaigners to forge a team capable of moving through the tiers of the women’s game.
