Club mourns the passing of former Gulls keeper
It is with deep sadness that Torquay United FC has learned of the passing of former United goalkeeper Scott Corderoy.
Having graduated from The Gulls’ youth system in the early 2000s, Corderoy went on to enjoy notable success in local non-league circles with the likes of Watcombe Wanderers and Stoke Gabriel amongst others. During the 2015/16 campaign, Scott made a return to Plainmoor in order to provide goalkeeping competition for Kevin Nicholson’s first team, as The Gulls overcame the odds to secure a notable ‘Great Escape’ from relegation.
A legendary figure at all the clubs he has represented on the pitch, Scott was also a passionate Liverpool supporter who became a hugely popular coach off it, and he was proud to bring his Saltash U11 Girls to Plainmoor earlier this year, to attend our pre-season fixture against Plymouth Argyle.
As a tribute to Scott, the Club be holding a one minute applause prior to kick-off ahead of this Saturday’s home match against Hemel Hempstead.
The thoughts and sincere condolences of everyone at TUFC go out to Scott’s beloved family, and all his friends, at this very sad time.
Rest In Peace, Scott – YNWA
