Following another round of enthralling action in the National League South on Tuesday evening – this time not involving The Gulls – the permutations ahead of the final two games of the regular season are now at least a little clearer.
Of primary interest to the Yellow Army was a thrilling match in Upminster, where Hornchurch battled back from falling two goals down to Chelmsford, before a late leveller for the visitors saw the action-packed encounter end in a 3-3 draw.
That result between two of Torquay’s promotion rivals saw Jimmy Ball’s resurgent side remain in 3rd position on goal difference from Hornchurch.
Although finishing 2nd and 3rd in the final standings does provide those two sides with a guaranteed pathway through to a home semi-final in the Play-Offs and therefore bypass the Quarter-Final ‘Eliminator’ stage of the post-season action, there’s still plenty of other possible outcomes.

One look at the current NLS table above shows that with all teams still having six points to play for, United are just four points off Worthing in top spot, with the league leaders also boasting a vastly-superior goal difference.
If you view your glasses as half-empty rather than half-full, it’s also true that The Gulls are four points ahead of Maidenhead, who currently occupy the dreaded 8th place – missing out on the Play-Offs altogether. But enough about that.
Be there and make the difference!
Ahead of our final home game of the season (regular) against Hemel Hempstead this Saturday (18/04/26 3pm KO), United now know that victory against the Tudors will guarantee themselves a place in the end-of-season action for a second successive season.

With the arrival of new manager Ball seeing Torquay roar back into form during a four-match winning run and score a stunning sixteen goals in the process, United have arguably become the division’s great entertainers during the past few weeks.
With a top-three place also now within their own hands, and 1st place still to be decided, Saturday’s game is absolutely vital if they are to finish 2025/26 with something tangible to celebrate though.
With home advantage proving so influential to the Gulls players over the past two seasons, we’re urging anyone of Plainmoor-perusasion to join us here on Saturday and cheer the lads onto another massive three points.
Seats nearing a sell-out for saturday’s big match
Although the match is still three days away, over 3,800 tickets have now been sold for this weekend’s huge encounter, with only a few seats left available for Gulls fans in Bristow’s Bench and the Brothwell Irvine Family Stand.
Just as with our last home game against Bath City – when just short of 4,500 supporters were in attendance – Bristow’s Bench Block B and the Wollens Terrace have been opened up to allow as many Gulls fans as possible to watch this potentially pivotal promotion clash.

Once these tickets are gone, they’re gone, so to ensure you don’t miss out on this fantastic occasion, book your tickets online HERE now!
Tickets are available for purchase in all home areas of the stadium, whilst travelling Tudors fans will be situated in Bristow’s Bench Block A (seated).
Any fans who require a space in our Wheelchair section are asked to pay a visit to our Matchday Ticket Office, which will be open from Midday onwards on Saturday. Home and Away fans wishing to purchase tickets on the day of the game will also be able to do here, whilst supporters on the Popside will also be able to pay via card at our designated ‘Pay On The Gate’ turnstiles.
Please Note though, that all of the Matchday ticketing options listed above are subject to availability.
