Latest instalment lands Wednesday 26th March
Less than 12 months ago Torquay United FC were celebrating their 125th anniversary with no team, no manager, no owners and the very real possibility of no club at all.
Fast forward to 2025 and things are looking a little sunnier on the south coast. Our new manager Paul Wotton has assembled a squad of players in real contention for promotion, while off the pitch, new owners, the Bryn Consortium have put money, hope and a new sense of community into the club. To top it all, footballing (and Torquay United) legend Neil Warnock has returned to the ground to assist both in the boardroom and on the pitch.
The incredible story of our 2024-25 season has been filmed and documented with the second episode of our fantastic video series “Taking Flight” being released on Torquay United’s official YouTube channel on Wednesday 26th March HERE
From almost closing completely to being bought and saved, from Warnock’s return to the stadium at Plainmoor to Wotton building a squad from scratch, this is the account of a club coming back from the brink told by the people who made it all happen.
Produced by Torquay-based Cobalt Films, this beautifully filmed series is a tribute to all those who helped keep the club going: to the fans, the sponsors and the community who ensured it not only survived, but was able to grow and take flight.
