Torquay United would like to thank Wickes’ Torquay branch, who have helped supply equipment for our team of volunteers to ready Plainmoor for 2024/25.
Last season saw Wickes become the sponsors of the Groundstaff here at Plainmoor, and the company has come up trumps again, this time supplying equipment for free as Plainmoor undergoes a freshen up ahead of the new National League Season in August. The Club would also like to say thanks to Nick Brodrick and his volunteers who have been coming in to help with new doors, cleaning up pathways & stairways and painting areas all over the ground, making sure Plainmoor will be looking bright and ready to go come the first home game of the season.
Torquay United Women captain Danni Wyatt, who is also Store Operations Manager at Wickes’ brand-new store was delighted to assist.
“Wickes is all about making the nation feel house-proud, so the fact we were able to do that as a new store in Torquay, and make the Yellow Army feel home-proud was really nice.
“I enjoyed meeting the guys at Plainmoor and seeing what we needed to help with the refresh, and it looks fantastic – the volunteers have done a great job!
“Wickes have supported a lot of community projects, and it goes hand-in-hand with Torquay United being a community club, with the two parties working together.”
Wickes has a range of building products for both trade professionals and the general public looking to make improvements to their home, meanwhile the Torquay store boasts both a kitchen and bathroom showroom to enable customers to visualise potential home improvements. The store also has a number of professional design consultants on hand to offer advice and a free design service, as well as Wickes’ installation service.
Thanks to all at Wickes for your continued support!
