TUST AGM 2024

Supporters Trust welcomed to The Cove

Around eighty fans, half in person with the others online, attended last night’s Torquay United Supporters’ Trust (TUST) AGM at Plainmoor.

The meeting, held in the Cove restaurant, following the conclusion of the business side of the AGM, heard from chairman Nick Brodrick about the key events of the year.

TUST meeting Michael Westcott, months of talking and meetings, the emergence of the Bryn Consortium leading to the administrator giving the green light to take over the club. The momentous decision for two TUST nominated non-executive directors on the football board.

Of course, the success of the Community Share Issue figured and TUST’s co-opted member Matt Gorman, who masterminded the process, was handed a small gift in recognition of his dedicated work.

TUST now has 1153 members and all were eligible to vote for four TUST board members seeking re-election with three others putting their names forward for five vacancies. Voting online had been ongoing for several weeks leading up to the evening and the chair of the Election Management Group, Andrew Fiderkiewicz, announced that Nick Brodrick, Robin Causley, Rob Burkitt and Harry Lovering were elected to be joined on the board by Clive Hayward.

Nick Brodrick commented, “It was great that after many years absence we were able to hold our AGM at the home of football inside Plainmoor. I would, though, like to thank everyone at Torquay Athletic Rugby club for hosting our AGM’s over the past few years. During the Question and Answer session last night there were a number of helpful and constructive comments to enable the trust move forward to reflect its higher profile in the running of the club.”

TUST chairman Nick Brodrick and co-Vice Chair Robin Causley now move on to the FSA Football Awards in London on Monday as the trust are nominated with three others in the Non-League category.
