Six-goal thriller at South Devon College
Ryan Perks’ new-look squad continued their pre-season preparations on Sunday afternoon, as they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Barry Town.
Torquay were certainly quickest out of the traps, and they raced into a two-goal lead just past the half-hour mark, thanks to a quick-fire double from impressive striker Trialist F and Rebecca McMullin.
However, the Welsh side showed plenty of spirit, and they bagged themselves a lifeline just before the break to make it 2-1.
A competitive second half saw plenty more twists and turns, with Barry levelling the scores with some twenty minutes remaining, only for the ever-reliable Tracey Cross to fire United back in front in the latter stages.
Just when it looked as though Perks’ team had confirmed victory, Town struck again with to level things up at 3-3, and that was the way it stayed.
An entertaining and worthwhile warm-up for Torquay, where hopes remain high ahead of the new campaign.
With a whole host of new signings set to be announced shortly, things are about to get even more exciting…
