Defender added ahead of Saltash trip

Torquay United’s title-chasing women have strengthened their defensive options ahead of Sunday’s league match at Saltash, with Amii Kearley becoming the latest addition to Ryan Perks’ side.

Kearley is a player The Gulls’ boss knows well, with Amii having come through the ranks during Perks’ spell in charge of Plymouth Argyle.

A former England U16 international, the defender made 17 appearances in the third tier for Argyle in 2024/25, prior to making the switch to local rivals Marine Academy earlier this season.

“Amii is a excellent and talented player, and will be a great addition to the squad,” said Ryan.

“She has huge potential, and by adding her to our current group of players, she will add further depth and quality to the squad.

“She’s a great person and will fit in with the culture we have grown at the club, and I’m looking forward to working with her again.”

This move is subject to league approval.

Kearley’s arrive comes ahead of United’s trip to Cornwall to face Saltash United this weekend (, as Torquay look to strengthen their position at the top of the South West Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division, following an emphatic 9-0 win over basement side Bishops Lydeard last time out.
