Torquay United Women FC
Torquay United Women FC have continued to go from strength-to-strength in recent years. In 2022 the side reached the Second Round Proper of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup for the first time in their history following a 2-0 win at Warminster Town Ladies. It was later in that same season that United Women overcame Exeter City at Coach Road on penalties to take home the Devon Cup for the first time in their history. Continuing to etch into the history books, in the 2022/23 season the side were crowned South West Regional Women’s Football League champions and earned themselves a place in the FA Women’s National League for the 2023/24 season for the first time.

Steve Elswood
TUWFC Chairman
Steve took over mid season in the 2021/22 season and helped guide the women to a County Cup victory over Exeter City, as well as a respectable fourth placed finish in the league. It was the 2022/23 season that Elswood's TUWFC side made history after they won the South West Regional Women’s Football League title to earn promotion into the FA Women's National League for the first time in Club history.
During the side's inaugural season in the National League, Steve made the switch from Manager to Chairman for Torquay United Women FC.
Elswood had a playing career at the likes of Hendon & Hayes where he was a goalkeeper. and was part of the Torquay United Centre of Excellence, as well as then being involved with the Youth set up at Tiverton Town. Steve currently holds a UEFA B Coaching licence.
Fun Fact about Steve: Steve owns shares in a racehorse that won the Welsh Grand National in 2021, and also loves a good cooking gadget!
Player Manager
Tracey Cross
Player Manager (Midfielder)
Tracey joined the United ranks in January 2022 from Plymouth Argyle after having a five year hiatus from the game. Previous clubs have included Bristol City & Exeter City. Cross is the current Vice Captain of TUWFC and rates her style as a fiesty midfielder who still thinks she can play as a striker! Was made Team Captain for the 2023/24 season and wears the number 7 shirt.
Tracey took on the position of Joint Manager alongside Jake Ellis in early February 2024, before later in the season taking the lead as Player Manager, whilst continuing her role as an inspirational midfielder for the TUWFC side.
