All the Latest from Our Young Gulls
It was another week of positive performances and development for United’s youth teams, with plenty of standout moments and strong displays across the weekend.
Under 8s
A top-class performance from the u8s on the weekend, at it from the first whistle and showing fantastic work rate all around.
The team played with great intensity and determination, producing some excellent passages of play for several of the goals.
Under 9s Blues
At times, it was a real “see ball, chase ball” display, however plenty of effort and energy was on show by the u9s. The team lost a bit of shape and didn’t always provide the passing options they work on in training.
All feedback was positively taken on board and ready to train well again on Monday!
Under 9s Yellows
A strange, slow start from the boys today, but they soon found their rhythm. The boys started well in the first quarter with some good attacking play and hard work off the ball.
The second quarter saw a bit of a lapse in concentration as Juventus U9s came out strong, However, credit to the lads they showed their trademark never say die attitude in the third quarter, finishing with a strong performance.
Under 11s
An excellent performance this weekend, with quality shown all over the pitch. The boys produced some fantastic build-up play through the lines, creating plenty of chances and showing great teamwork and understanding.
It was particularly pleasing to see the patterns we’ve been working on in training really come to life in the game. A great display and plenty to build on going forward!
Under 13s
Another scintillating performance from the whole group today, showcasing great teamwork, composure, and confidence on the ball.
Jack O’Connor volleyed home after just four minutes, before Toby Young’s cross found Santi Chamba to double the lead on eight minutes.
In the closing stages, Jacob Scragg and Freddie Bonner both produced stunning long range strikes to round off a brilliant team display.
Under 14s
A disappointing result for the U14s today, falling to a 4–2 defeat. It was a tough day all round, with the team not quite at their usual standards.
The boys know there’s plenty to improve on and will be working hard in training this week to bounce back ahead of a challenging fixture against Juventus Devon next weekend.
Well done all!
