Youth Round-Up – Boys

Another busy weekend for The Next Generation of Gulls stars

Torquay United’s youth teams were back in action this week, representing the club with determination and skill across a range of age groups.

From hard-fought clashes to standout individual performances, the young Gulls continue to show promise as they develop through the ranks.

Here, the coaches give us an update on how the action unfolded across their respective age groups.

Under 8s

The boys struggled to find their rhythm today after last week’s big win. They played better in the second quarter, pulling a few goals back. Special praise to Ryley in goal for some crucial saves. Goals came from Ellis Heath (2), Dempsey Davies (2), and Toby Cochran.

Under 12s

Torquay United U12s put in a strong performance against Exeter Rangers, playing well with limited numbers. They held a 2-1 lead until the closing moments, before being pegged back by a late equaliser.

The team defended solidly throughout and showed great spirit on the pitch. Goals were scored by Sonny Nurse and George Hansford, with Oliver Moxham named Man of the Match.

Under 13s

A superb 3-2 win for United against a tough Wiltshire side.

After going behind early, goals from Javon Scragg and Teddy Shobbrook turned it around before halftime. Wiltshire equalised, but Freddie Bonner sealed the win with a great finish in a dominant second half.

Man of the Match: Jake Jolly who was outstanding in defence.

Under 14s

A top performance from the U14s as they stormed to an 8-1 win over Saints Somerset — arguably their best display of the season!

Goals came from Gio (hat-trick), Xavi (2), Manny (2), and Jasper (1).

Under 15s

A hard-fought 2-1 victory for the U15s in a fiery clash with Exmouth! Every player was outstanding in a game full of drama.

Despite finishing with 9 men, the lads dug deep to hold on. A poor refereeing display and a feisty finish couldn’t overshadow a brilliant and well-deserved result.

Well done, all!
