Torquay United FC is delighted to announce that Rowcroft Hospice is the club’s Official Charity Partner for 2024/25

Since 1982, the specialist care provided by Rowcroft to the South Devon community over four decades has seen the Hospice blossom into an esteemed and well-respected organisation, which cares for more than 2,000 people with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon every year.

More recently, Rowcroft provided invaluable care and support for Gulls favourite Paul Holmes prior to his tragic passing earlier this year, with his wife Kate revealing it was his expressed wish that funds continue to be raised for the Hospice, in order for them to continue their remarkable work and help others who find themselves in similar situations.

Members of Rowcroft’s fundraising team have already been regular visitors to Plainmoor during the early part of the 2024/25, and by announcing Rowcroft Hospice as TUFC’s Official Charity Partner, the two parties are set to work closer together than ever before.

“Rowcroft Hospice is delighted that Torquay United has chosen to support us as they enter this exciting new chapter,” said Lisa Whittaker, Corporate Fundraiser for the Hospice.

“Rowcroft and the TUFC are both such beloved institutions, with countless connections across the local community, and so it’s a perfect fit. We’re very grateful to the club and the Yellow Army for your generosity. Every pound you give to our match collectors will help us to continue to give the best possible care to local people at the end of their lives.”

Head of Operations at Plainmoor, Jess Veacock, was equally delighted with the new link-up.

“Everybody in South Devon is aware of Rowcroft and the amazing work that they do, and many of our staff, supporters and sponsors will know someone who has personally been touched by the devoted care that they offer.

“Torquay United is proud to be in partnership with Rowcroft Hospice, and we’d like to thank all of our supporters that have already supported this fantastic cause for far this season.”
