Fundraiser In Memory Of Two Great Daves

Alzheimer’s disease has had a huge impact on the Stacey family, and today at Plainmoor, funds will be raised in memory of two club stalwarts

David Andrew Stacey lost his battle with young-onset Alzheimer’s in August at the age of 62 and his uncle, Torbay boxing legend David Leslie Stacey, lived with the disease in the last few years before his passing in October.

They were both passionate Torquay United fans and some of their family and friends have come together today to sponsor the Gulls’ match with Hemel Hempstead in their memory. In doing so, the aim is to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society.

At today’s match against Hemel Hempstead, collection buckets will be located around Plainmoor in order to raise for the Alzheimer’s Society. In addition to this, there is a signed Torquay home shirt up for grabs to the person who makes the highest single donation (by midnight tonight – 21st December 2024) to the Alzheimer’s Society via this fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/forstace2024
