Launching at 7pm on Monday 17th February
Less than 12 months ago Torquay United FC were celebrating their 125th anniversary with no team, no manager, no owners and the very real possibility of no club at all.
Fast forward to February 2025 and things are looking a little sunnier on the south coast. Our new manager Paul Wotton has assembled a squad of players in real contention for promotion, while off the pitch, new owners, the Bryn Consortium have put money, hope and a new sense of community into the club. To top it all, footballing (and Torquay United) legend Neil Warnock has returned to the ground to assist both in the boardroom and on the pitch.
The incredible story of our 2024-25 season has been filmed and documented with the video series “Taking Flight” launching on Monday, February 17 on the Torquay United YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/c/OfficialTUFC
From almost closing completely to being bought and saved, from Warnock’s return to the stadium at Plainmoor to Wotton building a squad from scratch, this is the account of a club coming back from the brink told by the people who made it all happen.
Produced by Torquay-based Cobalt Films, this beautifully filmed series is a tribute to all those who helped keep the club going: to the fans, the sponsors and the community who ensured it not only survived, but was able to grow and take flight.
The first episode goes live at 7pm on Monday (February 17). The series continues with episodes being released each month.
