Torquay United manager Paul Wotton will be wearing the iconic 1899 number in this year’s Torbay Half Marathon. He’ll be joined by his assistant Mike Edwards in taking on the challenge.
Organisers David Hart and Suzi Cumberland joined Paul Wotton and Co-Chairmen Michael Wescott and Mark Bowes-Cavanagh at Plainmoor to launch our involvement with the race.
The race is due to take place on Sunday, September 21st, with members of the Yellow Army sure to be part of the thousands of people running on the day and raising money for charity. With last year’s race being cancelled due to bad weather, this year’s race is sure to be a popular one.
David Hart from Taurus Events, organisers of the Torbay Half Marathon & 10K, is looking forward to this year’s run in a sport that is growing year by year in Devon.

“The Torbay Half Marathon & 10K is one of the fastest growing running events in Devon,” said David. “They’ll be over 4000 people of all levels taking part and enjoying the beautiful views of Paignton on the way round during this fantastic community event.”
Rowcroft Hospice is the official charity for the races which have over 200 runners in the race.
“We are open to any participant for any charity that they would like to support. We see a huge number of charitable benefits that come off the back of the event,” said Suzi Cumberland, Managing Director of Taurus Events and Race Director of the Torbay Half Marathon & 10K
