NEXT UP | Farnborough (A) (05/11/25 7:45pm KO)

United travel to Hampshire to take on Farnborough in the first of two important away trips this week.

With The Gulls losing their unbeaten start at Plainmoor to Hornchurch on the weekend, Paul Wotton’s men will be looking to bounce back away from home against Farnborough.

Who’s The Boss?

Spencer Day, Farnborough’s manager, joined The Boro in November 2011 and since that point has turned around the clubs fortunes guiding them from the The Southern League Premier Division back to the National League South.

Day, is known for his relentless work behind the scenes and has brought the club a period of great success and stability after some uncertain times.

How Are They Doing?

Three wins, four draws, and seven defeats marks a mixed start to the season for Farnborough who currently sit one point outside the relegation zone.

That said, it’s still early days, and Farnborough will be hoping they can make some distance between themselves and the dreaded relegation zone.

Player to Watch

Farnborough attacker, Mason Bloomfield has netted 4 times and assisted twice in the National League South this season, and United will have to keep an eye out for his partnership with the former Ebbsfleet striker Dominic Poleon.

United will be hoping they can keep the partnership quiet and particularly Bloomfield who provides a real threat to The Gulls backline.

Played for Both?

The Yellow Army will remember Ali Omar from his spell with The Gulls between 2021 and 2023 where he made 51 appearances, scoring one goal.

Omar, who signed for Farnborough at the start of the season, went on to play for Larne, and Bangor in Northern Ireland before heading back to England.
