Torquay United FC was delighted to welcome a very special guest to Plainmoor for our Boxing Day clash, as Her Game Too founder and CEO Caz May joined us for our victory over Weston-super-Mare.
Caz started up the #HerGameToo campaign in 2021 to combat sexism in sport, with the aim in making it more inclusive and accessible for women & girls, whilst partnering up with clubs, such as Torquay, to help tackle abuse and promoting opportunities.
Caz’s visit to Plainmoor also gave her the opportunity to meet with TUFC HGT Ambassadors past and present, with Gulls fan Kirsty Jarvis recently taking up the position vacated by United board member and Women’s player Danni Wyatt.
“I’m so pleased we were able to host Caz on Boxing Day,” said Danni.
“The feedback she shared about the club was fantastic to hear and genuinely made me feel very proud to be part of such a warm and welcoming environment.
“We met with Kirsty and had some great discussions with Caz about the history of the club, as well as the diversity and inclusivity we are proud of at TUFC. “Caz shared best practices and some brilliant stories from her experiences at other clubs.”
For United’s new Ambassador, the meeting gave Kirsty the chance to discuss future opportunities – with more exciting link-ups in the pipeline.
“It was great to meet with Caz and Danni on Boxing Day,” said Kirsty.
“It was fantastic to hear some of the stories Caz was able to share about how Her Game Too continue to support women across the game -cwhether they are supporters, players or those who work within the game.
“We spoke about how important our club is within the community and ideas for upcoming events. We’re all looking forward to what 2026 will bring!”
