Herald Cup Final Returns To Plainmoor

Join us for the last live game at Plainmoor this season!

Local football fans will be warmly welcomed back to Plainmoor for one final time in 2025/26 tonight, as the jewel in the local footballing crown returns to the home of TUFC for the first time in over 20 years, as Lakeside Athletic and Paignton Saints battle it out in the Herald Cup Final.

Following on from last night’s hosting of the Ronald Cup Final, where hundreds of local fans made the most of the opportunity to grab their footy fix for one of the last times before the close season, we’ll be opening our doors once again this evening for what is sure to eb another highly-charged encounter!

Lakeside were the first side to book their spot in the final, courtesy of their 2-0 Watts Blake Bearne, before the Saints sealed their place following a penalty shoot-out win over Islington Villa.

Up until 2004, the final of the South Devon Football League’s most prestigious cup competition was a familiar fixture at Plainmoor, and now, two decades later, two local sies will be going all-out to secure silverware on Friday 15th May (7pm kick-off).

With 2025/26 Plainmoor Pass holders being provided with free access to watch this much-anticipated encounter, we’re encouraging as many members of the Yellow Army as possible to join us for what is always a fantastic occasion in the local footballing calendar!
