Now For The Treble!

United’s women will take on Poole Town Ladies in the MJM Sports League Cup Final tomorrow at Bishops Lydeard tomorrow, as they look to round off a glorious season with yet another trophy.

With promotion to the FA Women’s National League already confirmed after claiming the SWRWFL title last weekend, and the Devon County Cup secured the week before that, Ryan Perks’ side will be determined to round 2025/26 off with one last piece of silverware.

Both sides secured their place in Sunday’s showpiece in nerve-shredding style, with The Gulls eventually running out 6-5 winners at Gloucester, whilst Poole needed penalty kicks to emerge victorious at AEK Boco.

If United are to come out on top tomorrow, they will need to rediscover their goalscoring touch, which has somewhat eluded them in the past fortnight, after the 10-0 drubbing of SB Oak Villa was followed up by away draws at Boco (1-1) and Sherborne (0-0).

Torquay do have recent history on their side however, with both league outings going in their favour, as Perks’ team came away from Dorset with a comfortable 4-1 win last November, before bettering that with a clean sheet in the return encounter three months ago.

The Yellow Army will, as always, be warmly welcomed to the host venue of Bishops Lydeard FC (Darby Way, TA4 3BA), with the match kicking off at 2pm.
