Taylor Scarff Signs For United

Gulls secure the signing of highly-rated defender

Torquay United is pleased to announce the signing of central defender Taylor Scarff from Plymouth Parkway.

Taylor, 26, arrives at Plainmoor with a reputation as one of the most promising defenders in the Southern League, with his performances with Tavistock and Plymouth Parkway earning him international recognition with the British Virgin Islands, with the commanding centre-half earning six caps to date.

Having spent time in the youth ranks at Yeovil Town and Liverpool as a youngster, Torquay boss Jimmy Ball feels Scarff is ready to fulfil his potential with United, having impressed against The Gulls during Parkway’s pre-season friendly win at Bolitho Park back in July.

“He’s someone that I’ve kept tabs on for a while, especially during the last pre-season” said Ball.

“I thought he did great against us, and then I went and watched him a week later against Truro, and he did well in that game too.

“He’s got lots of potential, and lots of development in him. He’s a great young lad, a very committed defender, and I think he’ll do really well for us.”

Welcome to Plainmoor, Taylor!
