With United Women’s new home shirt going on sale at Plainmoor tomorrow, 20% of each shirt sale is being donated to support Gulls star Roxy Thomas’ fundraiser.
The new kit boasts coastal-inspired graphics that nod to TUFC’s unique home, whilst the traditional club colours remaining at the heart of the design. The ‘Est. 2013’ detail on the back neck recognises the year the women’s team was founded, and the ‘Inspiring the Next Wave’ print inside the collar reflects the team’s ambition to encourage the next generation of girls and women to wear this badge with pride.
The first delivery of stock, with more sizes to follow, will go on sale from the Club Shop at Plainmoor from midday on Sunday, prior to the FA Women’s National League encounter getting underway at 2pm.
Torquay United, on behalf of the Thomas family, would like to express its heartfelt thanks to every single individual and group that has donated, shared, and supported the GoFundMe fundraiser which was launched to support Roxy Thomas and her family, with donations having now exceeded an astonishing £20,000
Every single penny raised will be used to help Roxy and the Thomas family during what is an incredibly difficult period, after the hugely popular member of the United women’s team was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Roxy, 18, remains in Intensive Care Unit at Southmead Hospital in Bristol following a series of operations, and the prayers, thoughts and best wishes of everyone here at Plainmoor remain with her, her family, friends and teammates throughout this period.
GoFundMe fundraiser in support of Gulls player Roxy Thomas
After joining United last summer, Roxy has gone on to establish herself as an important member of Torquay United Women, with the attacking left-back enjoying an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.
In addition to being a regular member of last season’s treble-winning side, Roxy became a reliable source of goals throughout 2025/26, with numerous assists created for teammates, in addition to getting on the scoresheet herself on regular occasions.
A set-piece specialist, her consistent form eventually saw her rightly recognised as the Women’s Young Player of the Season at the club’s end-of-season Gala awards.
A much-loved and integral member of the Torquay United FC family, everyone at Plainmoor will continue to stand alongside Roxy and the Thomas family every step of the way throughout her treatment schedule.
As part of this, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help raise funds to support Roxy and her family during this testing period.

Every penny raised via this fundraiser will be used to support Roxy and her family with costs associated with the following:
- Travel costs to / from hospital
- Accommodation for Roxy & her family during hospital stays
- Loss of income during treatment
- Medical expenses not covered by NHS
