United Women Preparing For Bournemouth Test

Gulls looking to bounce back in Dorset after four departures confirmed

Torquay United’s women will be looking to get to winning ways on Sunday, as Ryan Perks’ side return to FAWNL action with a visit to Bournemouth Sports (11/10/26 2pm KO).

Following on from the last-gasp home defeat against Maidenhead United (2-3), cup setbacks away at Plymouth Argyle (0-1) and Keynsham (1-2) have left Torquay with the unfamiliar challenge of rediscovering their best form, and they will have to do without four players who have played valuable roles in last season’s success.

Connie Pengelley, Carmen Morison, Skye MacDonald-Brown and Ella Pawley all proved to be popular and useful acquisitions following their arrival at Plainmoor last term, however, with all four now leaving for pastures new, opportunities will now fall the way for other members of Perks’ 26/27 roster.

Sunday’s opponents will also be looking to boost their own morale, after a disappointing 0-4 defeat at home to Portchester saw them, like United, exit the Women’s FA Cup last weekend.

Sports’ last league outing also saw them lose out in a five-goal thriller – 2-3 to visitors Marine Academy – meaning that there will be a lot on the line for both sides this weekend!

Gulls fans unable to make the trip, as ever, can listen to live and exclusive commentary via TUFC Radio HERE, with coverage beginning from 1.45pm on Sunday.
