The Yellow Army get set for Saturday’s clash with Maidstone United.
United return to Plainmoor on Saturday to face first placed Maidstone United in a return to league action.
United currently sit 4th in the National League South form guide over the previous five matches and have already demonstrated their ability to produce emphatic performances this season with the 4-0 away victory at Maidenhead United, and a 5-1 home win over Slough Town.
While the weekend’s narrow defeat to promotion challenging National League North side Oxford City in the Emirates FA Cup was a setback, there have been plenty of positives to take from United’s performances so far, with Jimmy Ball’s men showing they possess the attacking quality to trouble any opponent in the division.
Saturday presents another opportunity to turn that potential into points, with the Yellow Army once again set to play an important role at Plainmoor.
The Stones Head To Plainmoor
Maidstone will arrive in Devon having enjoyed a promising start of their own, with the Kent side establishing themselves among the early contenders in the division.
The Stones have demonstrated their ability to grind out results, including a 1-0 away win at Tonbridge Angels and 2-1 victories over Horsham and Maidenhead United respectively.
United will therefore need to be at their best against a side capable of making life difficult, but can take confidence from the attacking performances they have produced in recent weeks.
With home advantage and the backing of the Yellow Army, the team will be determined to return to winning ways and make Plainmoor a difficult place to play.
‘Morts’ Looking To Add To Tally
Callum Morton capped an all-action display against Slough Town by scoring his first goal at Plainmoor.
His movement, work rate and ability to occupy defenders will no doubt lead the talented forward to climb the goals column as the National League South takes shape.
Back the Gulls, Yellow Army!
The Yellow Army continues to offer its fantastic support home and away. With the league leaders coming to Plainmoor a mouth watering tie is in store and your support is vital to pushing the lads towards another three points.
