Torquay United were represented at this weekend’s National League AGM at Celtic Manor, with Co-Chairman Michael Westcott, General Manager Tim Herbert and TUST Chairman / Club Director Nick Brodrick attending on behalf of the Club.
There was strong recognition for the Gulls across the weekend, with Sonny Blu Lo-Everton named as one of four finalists for the Jack Pearce National League South Young Player of the Year Award. The eventual winner was Worthing’s Wiktor Makowski, but Sonny’s nomination was a deserved acknowledgement of an excellent season and a proud moment for the Club.
There was further good news for United, with Torquay United winning the Best Matchday Programme Award for National League South for the Club’s 1899 Magazine.
The award is a great recognition for TUFC Head of Fan Engagement Dom Garrett-Mee (Editor), John Townsend of Half World Studio (Design) and Paul Whieldon of Minuteman Press, Torquay (Printer), in addition to everyone who contributes to the publication throughout the season.
TUFC would like to place on record its thanks to everyone involved in the production of 1899 Magazine.

The AGM itself is an important annual meeting for National League clubs, covering the year ahead, the make-up of the divisions, proposed rule changes and wider issues affecting the game.
Supporters will be particularly interested to note that the 2026/27 fixtures are due to be released on Friday 11th July, with the new National League South season scheduled to begin on Saturday 8th August.
For Torquay United, the AGM was also a useful opportunity to hear directly from the League on a number of key topics, including the 2026/27 National League South constitution, the continuing 3UP campaign for an additional promotion place into the EFL, the developing Independent Football Regulator, financial reporting requirements, and changes designed to improve supporter experience and club operations.
There were also discussions around practical rule changes for the new season, including short-term loans, emergency goalkeeper loans, fixture postponements following cup ties, and away supporter allocations.
Torquay United would like to thank the National League for hosting the AGM and looks forward to working constructively with the League and fellow member clubs during the season ahead.
